Have you ever gotten a gift for Christmas that was so far off the mark, considering that you have COPD, you had to laugh? Share your ideas about what people should NOT buy you for Christmas. Share Your Not Want List

Blankets, Throws, Scarves, Gloves

I already had my own collection of blankets and throws, so I respectfully say - no more! I hope no one gives me a "snuggie" either. I'm blessed to be warmed blooded, so I don't need those. I have plenty of mittens and gloves too. No more, please. The worst for me are scarves. When I drove a car, I did not like the potential of them getting caught up in the steering wheel. Now with my O2 cannula/hose, the last thing I need or want is something else around my neck or face. People mean well, but sometimes they buy or even "re-gift"these type of items, think of donating them to a women's shelter rather than to me.

Clothing From the Big Girl Store

I hate it when my mom buys me clothes from a store that only caters to the "full figured" woman. Makes me feel like a cow!

No More Slippers

I don't want any more slippers for Christmas. I slip in them. There are 5 boxes of them in my closet, waiting to go to anyone who wants them. I'll take a pair of good sneakers any day. My balance is bad enough without sliding.

I Already Have Enough....

I don't want any more fabric, quilting tools, or books of any kind. Perfume, scented soaps, bubble bath and bath salts literally take my breath away. What I'd really like is for people to give the money they would spend on me and donate it to the food bank.

What I Don't Want for Christmas

Duct tape, a 18x12 of my mother in law, actually no pics of her, her horrible face is burned in my head! A mounbtain climbing guide.

I'm Not Dead Yet!

Help me to keep family traditions going even though I can't do it all myself. Ask me which ones I can forego & which ones I really need help with to continue. It's important to me that things don't change too much just because I got sick.

Stinky Smelling Stuff

I love candles, but not loud smelling candles, potpourri, flower arrangements, etc. Also, gift boxes with cologne, powder and/or deoderant. I like a faint smell, but can't stand loud smelling things or people.

An Engraved Lighter

Considering I quit smoking a long time ago, when my nephew bought me an engraved lighter for Christmas one year, I felt bad telling him I did not like or need it, so I kept it and gave it to someone else the following year.
